Safe Haven Ready for Tenants Haven House

(Washington, DC) Tuesday, February 5, 2002 - D.C. Department of Housing and Community Development Project Managers Wanda Pope (l to r) and Mila Aguda join Ruben McCommack, Safe Haven Project Manager, and Haven House staff person in final walk through.

DHCD's mission is provide quality and affordable housing opportunities and to increase homeownership for the residents of the District of Columbia. DHCD supports housing development projects by funding acquisition, pre-development, construction, and renovation costs. Photos of events that celebrate the beginning or completion of various DHCD funded housing development projects are attached. (See attached photos and descriptions.)

White Glove "White Glove Inspection" D.C. Department of Housing and Community Development Project Managers Wanda Pope and Mila Aguda preview apartment units at Haven House, a 29-unit cooperative apartment building that will be managed by tenants who where previously homeless, but who are now self-sufficient. The Haven House cooperative apartment building is located at 1477 Newton Street, N.W. DHCD provided $375,000 from the Housing Production Trust Fund to support renovations to the building.
