News Release for Immediate Release July 8, 2003 DHCD Sponsors Lead-Safe Housing Conference July 17th, 2003 The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is coordinating a Lead-Safe Housing Conference. The goal of the conference is to facilitate a citywide approach to educating housing development professionals, community development organizations, financial institutions, and advocacy groups on implementing the US Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Lead Safe Housing Rule (24 CFR 35). HUD and District agencies (the Departments of Health (DOH), Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA), Human Services (DHS), and Employment Services (DOES)) the DC Housing Authority (DCHA), and the DC Housing Finance Agency (DCHFA), along with a broad range of other stakeholders, are scheduled to participate. The Safe-Lead Housing Conference will be held July 17, 9 am to 5 pm, in the auditorium the DC Housing Finance Agency, 815 Florida Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.
