News Release for Immediate Release May 7, 2004 Up To $1 Million Available for Storefront Façade Improvements  (Washington, DC) The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is making available up to $1 million in federal Community Development Block Grant funds to nonprofit organizations for storefront façade improvement on targeted retail corridors in the District. DHCD is accepting grant applications from community-based, nonprofit organizations and community development corporations to complete façade storefront improvement for commercial properties along targeted retail corridors in the District. The deadline for application submissions is Friday, June 4, 2004 at 4 pm. DHCD expects to execute grant agreements by October 1, 2004.
