The American Dream Downpayment Initiative

(Washington, DC) Although the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) allocated funding to the District of Columbia for the American Dream Downpayment Initiative (ADDI), the city does not anticipate the receipt of these funds until fiscal year 2005, which begins October 1, 2004. If funding is received prior to that time, the implementation date will be adjusted accordingly.

ADDI program details are still being developed and additional information is unavailable at this time. A public announcement (tentatively scheduled for late August) will be made to provide program details, along with where and how to apply. The following links provide:

  1. HUD's latest brochure on ADDI*
  2. A copy of the interim regulations for ADDI (as published in the Federal Register)*
