$35 Million Available for Affordable Housing Development for Fiscal Year 2005

(Washington, DC) DHCD has updated FY 2005 Development Finance Division (DFD), Request for Proposal to include an addendum to the Exhibit Checklist document. The updates are additional forms and Exhibits Z-1 through Z-3. (See attached*). The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is making available $35 million in local Housing Production Trust Fund monies, federal HOME Investment Partnerships Program, Community Development Block Grant funds, and Low-Income Housing Tax Credits for developers committed to creating affordable housing.

During FY 2004, DHCD utilized the Request for Proposal (RFP) process to assist in the financing of affordable rental, special needs, senior housing and home ownership opportunities for District residents. Projects include: the highly anticipated J.W. King Senior Center project that will produce 74 new units of housing for seniors in Ward 7; 18 units of special needs housing with Green Door, an organization that rehabilitates housing for physically and mentally disabled residents; and 227 rehabilitated multi-family units at Oxford Manor Apartments developed by the tenant association and a non-profit developer.

Proposals must be submitted on or before 4:00 pm, Friday, September 03, 2004, to DHCD, Development Finance Division, 801 North Capitol Street, NE 2nd Floor, Washington, DC 20002. Each submission must contain an original document, in a three ring binder (with each exhibit tabbed) and four (4) copies. DHCD is expected to announce the developers selected to go forward to the underwriting stage in October 2004.
