DHCD announces Community Hearings

(Washington, DC) The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) announces that public hearings will be held regarding the District of Columbia Five-Year Consolidated Plan for Fiscal Years 2006-2010 and the Consolidated Annual Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2006. The Five Year Plan will contain the District’s priorities, goals and strategies to create and retain affordable housing, stimulate community development and economic opportunity for low-to-moderate-income residents. The FY 2006 Annual Action Plan will be the District’s annual application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for four federal entitlement grants: the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), the Home Investment Partnership Program Grant (HOME), the Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG), and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program Grant (HOPWA). The Action Plan will contain budgets and specific program objectives to accomplish the goals and priorities established in the Five Year Plan.
