DHCD Implements Interactive Consolidated Housing Data

Since Fiscal Year 1999, DHCD has invested more than $99,000,000 in creating 9,657 affordable housing units citywide, with a total development cost of over $1,022,749,000. The purpose of this interactive tool is to illustrate DHCD's investment in affordable housing units from FY 1999 - FY 2004.

Clicking on a line in the "Consolidated Data" section presents the user with a pie chart that indicates units funded by percentage of the Area Median Income (AMI). By holding the mouse over the individual pie segments, the user is presented with three numbers: the top number represents the income population served; the second number represents the number of units created; and the third number represents the percentage of the total.

The "Affordability by Project" section groups projects by ward. Using the down arrows, the user first selects a ward, and then selects a project.

In the near future, this new type of "interaction" will instantly provide basic information on DHCD-funded projects and enable constituents to stay abreast of new housing developments in their neighborhoods and communities.
