DHCD Releases Draft Year-End Evaluation Report for Public Comment

(Washington, DC) DHCD releases the DRAFT FY 2005 Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER) for a 15-day community review and comment period. The review period is from November 25, 2005 to December 12, 2005.

The CAPER is the District of Columbia’s report to HUD on its progress in meeting the goals set in the FY 2005 Consolidated Action Plan for spending of four federal entitlement grants: the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG); the Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME); the Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG); and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA).

The CAPER documents the dollars spent from local as well as federal sources to produce affordable housing units for rent or ownership, assist residents in becoming homeowners, help tenants gain ownership of their units, help small businesses improve their appearance and business practices, and help homeless persons or persons with AIDS to find housing and support services.

The draft CAPER will be available at DC public libraries, ANCs, and a number of community-based organizations. The document can also be obtained at DHCD, 801 North Capitol Street, NE, on the 8th floor. The final CAPER will be submitted to HUD before the end of December 2005.
