DHCD Solicits Applications from Eligible First Trust Mortgage Lenders for Interest Rate "Buy-Down"   

(Washington, DC) The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is soliciting applications under federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program funding dedicated to homeownership assistance. Funding under this notice will be available in FY 2006, beginning no later than September 30, 2006.

The general scope of activity is the development of a low-interest first trust mortgage lending product for income-eligible first-time homebuyers. Community Development Block Grant funds will be used to reduce the interest rate for the first trust mortgage product. Further details on the activity to be funded will be described in the Request for Applications.

The Request for Application (RFA) was released on February 24, 2006, and the deadline for submission is April 7, 2006, at 4 pm. Applications can be obtained from 801 North Capitol Street NE, Washington, DC 20002 – 6th Floor Reception Desk. A Pre-Application Conference will be held at the Department of Housing and Community Development on March 10, 2006, at 10 am, 801 N. Capitol Street, NE, 9th Floor. Attendance at the conference is encouraged for all potential applicants.
