DHCD Issues Call For Filing of LIHTC Owners’ Annual Certifications
(Washington, DC) Owners of affordable housing projects developed with the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) in the District of Columbia are hereby notified to file the 2005 Owner’s Certificate of Continuing Program Compliance, as required by Section 42 of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) by Friday, June 30, 2006.
Since the tax code requires the owner’s annual certificate to be signed by an authorized member of the ownership entity, the owner’s annual certificate must be submitted in hard copy and signed by an authorized member of the ownership entity. The Building Status Report must be returned electronically and one (1) hard copy must be submitted with the 2005 Owner’s Certificate of Continuing Program Compliance. Some documents are available in alternate formats by emailing 2006LIHTC@dc.gov.
