June Is National Homeownership Month!

(Washington, DC) June is National Homeownership Month! The Department of  Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and its partners will celebrate by holding a number of events throughout the month. On June 8, DHCD will hold a Homebuying Seminar for District government employees, and the department will sponsor a Homebuying Seminar for Metropolitan Police officers on June 20.

“National Homeownership Month gives us an opportunity to reach out into the community and educate residents about our programs and services,” said Jalal Greene, DHCD Director. “The Department remains committed year-round to assisting District residents in becoming homeowners, preserving affordable housing and supporting neighborhood revitalization. In June, we focus our attention on educating residents and District Government employees about homeownership opportunities.”

The Department will also hold events in July that are focused on homeownership. Please see the Agency Calendar or call (202) 442-7250 for more information.

About DHCD
