DHCD Holds Third Annual Sidewalk Housing Fair on July 14

(Washington, DC) The DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) will sponsor its third annual "Sidewalk Housing Fair," on Friday, July 14, 2006, in front of its headquarters at 801 North Capitol Street, NE, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.

The fair will give District residents access to information on DHCD's homebuyer assistance programs, home repair programs, and fair housing initiatives. The event will also include information on buying a house, housing counseling, individual credit analysis, upcoming affordable housing developments, and much, much more. Financial institutions and other organizations and agencies throughout the District have been invited to provide their expertise on buying, financing, and maintaining a home.

"This is just one of the innovative methods that the Department uses to reach District residents," said Jalal Greene, DHCD's director. "We have to continue to reach out to the community to provide convenient access to information on DHCD's housing programs and services. The feedback for the housing fairs have been extremely positive. We will continue this and other events to ensure that District residents are informed about our programs."
