Homeownership and Home Rehabilitation
District funding is available for programs focused on housing needs and neighborhood revitalization. Through Community Based Organizations (CBO), services include housing counseling, small business technical assistance, and façade improvement opportunities.
As a service for first-time home purchases, financial assistance for low and moderate-income households and District Government employees is provided through three District programs:
- Home Purchase Assistance Program
- Employer Assisted Housing Program
- Negotiated Employee Affordable Home Purchase Program
Also, in order to preserve homeownership, rehabilitation resources in the form of grants and loans addressing health, safety, and building code violations are available.
