(Washington, DC) - The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) will hold a public hearing at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 441 4th Street, NW, inside the Old Council Chamber. The hearing will provide the public with the opportunity to comment on the use of Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) and Community Development Block Grant-Recovery (CDBG-R) funds in accordance with The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The purpose of the hearing is to provide the public with an opportunity to express their views on the priority community needs. Public comments will be included in the agency’s “Draft Substantial Amendment to The Consolidated Plan for the District of Columbia Fiscal Year 2009 Action Plan”, which will be submitted to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
A draft of the proposed Substantial Amendment will be available for review, on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 online, at the Department (lobby), all public library branches, all Advisory Neighborhood Commission Offices and the following community based organizations:

- Central American Resources Center
