(Washington, DC) – The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) will hold a training session for developers entitled, “First Right to Purchase Program – Opportunities and Challenges.” The session will be held Tuesday, March 16 from 10 am – 12 pm at DHCD’s Housing Resource Center, First Floor Conference Room.
The purpose of this session is to provide developers with additional information on the program. The First Right Purchase Assistance Program provides seed money, earnest money deposits, and acquisition assistance to tenant groups that are threatened with displacement due to the sale of their apartment building. This program not only helps residents avoid displacement, but it also helps them become homeowners through their participation in limited equity cooperatives.
