The District's rent control law sets limits on the amount as well as the frequency of rent increases. There are also a host of rules and regulations that housing providers must follow—and tenants should understand to protect their rights.
In this workshop the Rental Accommodations Division (RAD) of the DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) will explain four of the following rules, registration and licensing of a “housing accommodation”; disclosures to prospective, new and existing tenants; and the circumstances under which a housing provider can give tenants notices to vacate a property.
