Welcome to the DHCD Housing Resource Center!
The Housing Resource Center (HRC) is the District's central hub for housing, connecting residents and other customers with essential programs and services. We offer guidance on rental assistance, homebuyer support, foreclosure prevention, housing counseling, and emergency and transitional housing.
Our team works closely with government agencies, nonprofits, DHCD's Community-Based Organizations, and other housing support partners and networks across the city providing an entry point to housing, including:
- DC Government CBOs (Homeownership and Rental Opportunities)
- DCHousingSearch.org (Affordable Housing Opportunities)
- DCHFA - DC Open Doors (Homeownership Opportunities)
- DHS Intake Centers & Hotline (Emergency and Transitional Housing)
- DCHA Service Centers (Rental Opportunities - Public Housing)
- DC Front Door (Homeownership Opportunities)
At our HRC, we utilize these partnerships and various touchpoints throughout the city to streamline access to housing programs and services, from rent-controlled accommodations to homeownership and rental assistance. Here are additional DC Government agencies that provide support to homeowners, housing providers, and tenants:
- DC Department of Buildings (DOB)
- DC Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE)
- DC Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP)
- DC Office of the Tenant Advocate (OTA)
- DC Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR)
Let us help you achieve your housing needs and goals while building a stable, inclusive future for all District residents. If you’ve recently contacted the Housing Resource Center (HRC), we’d love to hear about your experience.
