DHCD Community-Based Non-Profit Organizations (CBOs) offer housing counseling services and training for potential homeowners, current homeowners, and tenants, with a focus on supporting low-to-moderate income residents and communities. These CBOs conduct outreach, manage application intake, and provide counseling and training to facilitate access to various DHCD programs. Housing counseling services include foreclosure prevention, credit counseling, home and budget management, and relocation assistance. Tenant services help residents understand their rights and responsibilities, addressing concerns such as potential displacement, rental/eviction counseling, apartment searches, and continued housing support.
