DC Homeowner Assistance Fund

The DC Homeowner Assistance Fund has allocated all of its federal relief funding and will no longer provide grant assistance or payments to District homeowners affected by COVID-19.

DHCD's New Location

On April 1st, DHCD moved to its new location at 1909 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE, and the location at 1800 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE closed on Friday, March 29th. DHCD opened at its new location on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Let's Talk Condos: How to Properly File Structural Defect Warranty Claims

Structural defects are defined as components installed by condominium developers that threaten the safety and stability of a condominium unit or building and require repair, renovation, or replacement.

Condominium associations and unit owners may file warranty claims with the DC Department of Housing and Community Development's (DHCD's) Rental Conversion and Sale Division (CASD) but often have questions about filing requirements.
