(Washington, DC) – The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) will hold training for its sub-recipients on the US Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Section 3 program (Section 3 of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended (12 U.S.C. 1701u), 24 CFR PART 135). The training is scheduled for Wednesday, September 22, 2010, from 9:30 am until 12:00 pm, in DHCD’s 1st Floor Board Room, at 1800 Martin Luther King, Jr., Avenue, SE, Washington, DC 20020.

DHCD strives to ensure that selected sub-recipients comply with all pertinent federal and local funding regulations, civil rights laws, and obligations to affirmatively further fair housing in the District of Columbia.  To this end, DHCD will conduct this sub-recipient training to provide guidance to sub-recipients, particularly those affecting the production of affordable housing.   The training session is mandatory for all DHCD-funded sub-recipients involved in rehabilitation or new construction projects.
