This workshop, offered by the Rental Accommodations Division (RAD) of the DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), will discuss DC's rent control law. This law not only sets limits on the amount and frequency of rent increases, it also has a host of rules that housing providers must follow—and tenants should understand to best protect their rights. Four of those rules include the registration and licensing of a “housing accommodation”; disclosures to prospective, new and existing tenants; and the circumstances under which a housing provider can give tenants notices to vacate a property.
