The District of Columbia's rent control law not only sets limits on the amount and frequency of rent increases. It also has a host of rules that housing providers must follow—and tenants should understand to best protect their rights. Four of those rules include the registration and licensing of a “housing accommodation”; disclosures to prospective, new and existing tenants; and the circumstances under which a housing provider can give tenants notices to vacate a property.
This workshop by the Rental Accommodations Division (RAD) of the DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) will explain the requirements.
