DHCD Releases Results From a Five-Year Study Examining Impediments to Fair Housing Choice in the District

The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) has released “Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice 2006-2011,” a report that examines some of the obstacles encountered by the District of Columbia in order to comply with federal laws prohibiting discriminatory practices in housing.
As a recipient of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the District of Columbia must identify and analyze the barriers to fair housing choice and devise solutions.

DHCD Announce Pre-Solicitation and Capacity Building Workshop Series

The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) announces it will host a Pre-Solicitation and Capacity Building Workshop Series to increase awareness of available local and federal funding sources and to explore potential partnership opportunities for non-profit and for profit organizations.
The first workshop will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 and will be held at the Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus (THEARC), 1901 Mississippi Avenue SE. Workshops will be held on February 27, 2013 and March 27, 2013 to complete the series.
DHCD Requires Annual Filing of Owner Certifications for LIHTC and HOME Funds

Owners of affordable housing projects developed with Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and HOME Investment funds in the District of Columbia are hereby notified to file the 2012 Annual Owner’s Certifications of Compliance and 2013 Monitoring Compliance Fees (fees are only for Tax Credit funded properties), as required by federal regulations by February 15, 2013.
