D.C. expands coronavirus grant program by $8 million, starts notifying winning businesses

D.C. officials are expanding their emergency grant program for businesses coping with the fallout from coronavirus, aiming to ensure that the vast majority of applicants to the program will walk away with something in the next few days….

D.C.’s Department of Housing and Community Development will send over more than $1 million to help support the grant program’s expansion. And Bowser announced Wednesday that DHCD will spend $1.5 million to help roughly 400 low-income residents pay rent for the next six months.
