Worthington Woods Preservation Celebration
Mayor Muriel Bowser will celebrate the preservation of Worthington Woods as affordable housing. This marks the preservation of over 1,000 units of affordable housing through the Preservation Fund.
Worthington Woods is a preservation project of nearly 400 units of affordable housing at 60% of MFI. The project is a TOPA deal with the tenant’s organization selecting Montgomery Housing Partnership (MHP) to purchase the property from WC Smith.

Assessing Needs for FY20 Action Plan
The DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) receives federal funding for policies and programs. Each fiscal year, DHCD develops an "Action Plan" on the best uses of federal resources. DHCD has completed its FY2020 Draft Annual Action Plan. District residents and stakeholders are strongly encouraged to give input on the proposed plan no later than August 2, 2019. DHCD will submit the Action Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development by August 16, 2019.

Public Hearing on Vacant to Vibrant Auction Sites
In May 2019, the District offered properties for sale, through the competitive process of an auction, conducted by Alex Cooper Auctioneers, Inc., as part of Vacant to Vibrant DC, Action 1—Auctioning Off to Gain Affordability. The goal is to transform the sites into affordable units to households with an annual income at or below 120 percent of the Median Family Income. The District of Columbia Department of Housing and Community Development has scheduled a public hearing to consider the proposed disposition of selectived properties.
Public Hearing on DC’s Allocation Plan for LIHTC
The DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is now seeking public comment on the draft 2019 Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP). The QAP is DHCD's federally mandated state plan for the allocation of credits allotted to the District of Columbia through the Federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program.
