(Washington, DC) - John E. Hall, Acting Director, Department of Housing and Community Development (“DHCD”), announces a FY 2011 DHCD Consolidated Annual Action Plan Meeting to occur Monday, June 13, 2011 from 2 pm to 4:30 pm at DHCD’s Housing Resource Center, located at 1800 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, SE.
Fiscal Year 2011 (FY 2011) marks the first year of the District of Columbia’s new Consolidated Plan. The Five Year Consolidated Plan for Fiscal Year 2011 – 2015 includes specific objectives and priorities regarding how the District seeks to stimulate activities during the five-year period that promote a suitable living environment through the development of housing and economic development opportunities. These opportunities, designed to assist persons of low- and moderate-income, are created on an annual basis through the framework of five Annual Action Plans, and include activities such as:
- the development and preservation of quality affordable housing;
- the creation of homeownership opportunities; and
- the revitalization of neighborhoods, promoting community development and providing economic opportunities.
The purpose of this meeting is to explain the details of these strategic activities for FY 2011. Please come and participate in this informative discussion on how DHCD plans to implement the FY 2011 Consolidated Plan. Immediately afterwards, from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm, meeting participants will be welcome to participate in a “Meet and Greet,” where additional questions and discussion regarding the FY 2011 Consolidated Annual Action Plan will occur.
