Art Rodgers

Art Rodgers has over 25 years of experience in urban planning, housing finance, and community development. Art is focused on researching and implementing housing policies that use public and private sector strategies to achieve diverse and inclusive communities.

For the majority of Art’s career, he served as the Senior Housing Planner for the DC Office of Planning, where his efforts included housing initiatives such as: working with stakeholders to research and design the District’s Inclusionary Zoning Program; an overhaul of the city’s downtown zoning to encourage residential and mixed-use development; and detailed analysis and technical support to four comprehensive housing task forces. His skills include real estate economics, policy and market analysis, forecasting, and GIS analysis.

Prior to joining the Office of Planning, he worked as a planning consultant; an investment officer at the AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust; and a Home Ownership Coordinator at a Neighborhood Housing Services in Buffalo, NY. He did his graduate work at Cornell University’s Department of City & Regional Planning, and received a BA in Environment Design from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Art has presented at several conferences and events including Rail-Volution, NHC Solutions, National Inclusionary Housing Conference, Urban Land Institute and New Partners for Smart Growth.
