The District has completed its draft of the Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area (NRSA) Plan which is available for citizen comment. NRSAs are intended to support revitalization of a neighborhood by encouraging a coordinated approach through comprehensive place-based efforts. The NRSA designation does not bring new funding to the District but provides greater flexibility in how the District can use existing federal resources within NRSA boundaries. The NRSA Plan must be approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to become effective. By defining an area, the District has the opportunity to stimulate investment and empower low-income residents in distressed neighborhoods.
Citizens and stakeholders may provide DHCD with written comments on the proposed NRSA Plan by submitting them at the public hearing, mailing them to Colleen Green, Director, DHCD, 1909 Martin Luther King Jr., Avenue SE, Washington, DC 20020, or emailing to [email protected].
DHCD will submit written statements received by 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in the NRSA submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
