This law not only sets limits on the amount and frequency of rent increases, it also has a host of rules that housing providers must follow—and tenants should understand to best protect their rights.

Join DHCD and the Ward 8 community for the groundbreaking of Ainger Place. This project will include 18 units at no more than $35,160 (30 percent MFI) and 54 units at no more than 50 percent MFI. There will be 34 one-bedroom apartments—with eight set-aside as permanent supportive housing (PSH), 30 two-bedroom apartments, and eight three-bedroom units. On-site amenities will include a fitness area, a community room, laundry rooms, a tot-lot, a resident courtyard, and parking for 36 vehicles.
This event is to celebrate the start of construction for 555 E Street, SW a multifamily apartment development with 195 units – 58 affordable for seniors – a boutique hotel, and 10,000 square feet of innovative retail space in Ward 6.

Partner Arms II, a three-story multifamily apartment building on Georgia Avenue, NW, is one of Housing Up’s oldest properties. Constructed in 1924 and acquired by Housing Up in 2001, Partner Arms II has operated as transitional housing for formerly homeless families until the current renovation. Now, Partner Arms II will provide 12 units of permanent supportive housing (PSH) to formerly homeless families.
