The DC Department of Housing and Community Development, Rental Housing Commission (“Commission”) has scheduled a meeting for Friday, September 28, 2018, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in the Commission’s hearing room at 441 4th Street, Suite 1140B-North NW, Washington, DC 20001. The Commission will vote to adopt draft decision and order. See notice below.
The DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) recently closed on three loans totaling more than $6.9 million that will preserve 64 units of affordable housing in Wards 4 and 7. In two cases, tenant associations exercised the Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act (TOPA) to purchase the properties and financing was provided through the Housing Production Trust Fund (HPTF).
The Pre-Bid meeting will cover information on the DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) release of Solicitations for Offers (SFOs) to transform several sites in the Ward 8 neighborhoods of Anacostia and Congress Heights into affordable housing for District residents.
DHCD is stepping up our efforts to produce and preserve more affordable housing for District residents. In this month’s newsletter, read about the new affordable housing RFP, a pilot program for owners of small affordable properties whose buildings may need repairs, our summer intern program and new senior housing.
The Housing Regulation Administration (HRA) of the DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is here to help!
Register for a unique opportunity to discuss with HRA representatives how HRA can best meet your housing needs as a tenant, and help you comply with housing requirements as a housing provider (property owner, landlord, real estate professional).
The DC Department of Housing and Community Development announced today it is seeking design input on a new public website that would, for the first time, provide comprehensive data on affordable housing in the District.
DHCD plans to launch an Affordable Housing Reference and Accountability Database (AHRAD) to centralize information on real estate designated for low- and moderate-income households as a result of District or federal affordable housing covenants, the District’s rent control law, and private efforts.
The District of Columbia's rent control law not only sets limits on the amount and frequency of rent increases. It also has a host of rules that housing providers must follow—and tenants should understand to best protect their rights. Four of those rules include the registration and licensing of a “housing accommodation”; disclosures to prospective, new and existing tenants; and the circumstances under which a housing provider can give tenants notices to vacate a property.
The Pre-Bid meeting will cover information on the DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) release of Solicitations for Offers (SFOs) to transform several sites in the Ward 8 neighborhoods of Anacostia and Congress Heights into affordable housing for District residents.
Through the SFOs, DHCD is seeking proposals to build affordable housing designated toward households making no more than $93,760 (80 percent of the 2018 Median Family Income [MFI] for a family of four), at the following site:
Please note that the pre-bid meeting for the Anacostia “Scattered Sites” solicitation has been rescheduled for Thursday, September 6.
