The Government of the District of Columbia, through the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) and the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) are issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the MLK/Gateway Community in Historic Anacostia at the nexus of Good Hope Road SE and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Ward 8.

DHCD’s Rental Conversion and Sales Division will present an educational session for tenants on the District of Columbia's Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act. This law establishes rights for tenants to purchase their building and first right of refusal when a landlord/property owner sells an apartment building. RSVP by May 23.

DHCD is charged with developing a National Housing Trust Fund Allocation Plan, which will be incorporated into upcoming Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan submission. At the May 26, 2016 hearing, DHCD requests public input on the following required plan components: priority housing needs, project-based rental assistance, eligibility requirements for sub-grantees, geographic targeting, funds leveraging, and the duration of the affordability period.

DHCD has scheduled a public hearing to consider the proposed disposition of the 17 vacant lots at Kramer Street, NE.
