DHCD to Hold Public Hearing May 19

Hearing provides the public with the opportunity to comment on the proposed disposition of 5734 13th Street, NW.

(Washington, DC) - The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), has scheduled a public hearing  to consider the proposed disposition of 5734 13th St. NW (Square 2797 Lot 0036), and the terms and conditions of the proposed Property Disposition Agreement.   The hearing will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 6 pm in the Department’s Housing Resource Center, which is located at 1800 Martin Luther King Jr., Avenue SE, inside the first floor conference room.  This hearing is being held pursuant to the requirements of DC Official Code Section 42-3171.03 (a)(1).  Please see the information below.

The public hearing will be conducted to inform District residents about the sale and to give District residents an opportunity to publicly present their views concerning the sale. The Property Disposition Agreement will be available for public examination at the public hearing and can be downloaded below. 

Persons or organizations that would like to present oral testimony are encouraged to register in advance either by emailing Ms. Andrea Lee at [email protected] , or by calling (202) 478-1355.  Please provide your name, address, telephone number, and organization affiliation, if any.  

Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD) relay service will be provided for the public hearing by calling (800) 201-7165 seven days prior to the hearing.  Sign language, interpreter and language translation services will be available upon request by calling Ms. Pamela Hillsman at (202) 442-7251.  Persons, who require interpretation or language translation, must specify the language of preference (i.e. Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese-Mandarin/Cantonese, Amharic, or French).  Language interpretation service will be provided to pre-registered persons only.  The deadline for requesting interpreter service is seven (7) days prior to the hearing.  Department of Housing and Community Development staff who are bilingual in English and Spanish will be available to provide interpreter service on an availability basis to walk-ins without registration.
