DHCD to Hold Public Hearing on Redevelopment Projects

Public hearing to consider the proposed disposition of four properties will be held May 6 at DHCD.

(Washington, DC) – On May 6, the DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) will hold a public hearing to consider the proposed disposition of 1817 Providence St. NE (Square 4043, Lot 0803); Providence St. NE (Square 4043, Lot 0007); Providence St. NE (Square 4044, Lot 0033); and 475 Florida Ave. NW (Square 3094, Lot 0051) and the terms and conditions of the proposed Property Disposition Agreements for those properties.  The public hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. at DHCD’s Housing Resource Center located on the first floor at 1800 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE.

This public hearing is being conducted in order to officially inform citizens about the sale of the before mentioned properties to the before mentioned buyers, and to ensure that all citizens have the opportunity to publicly present their views concerning those sales.

The “Property Disposition Agreements” documents for each property will be available for public examination at the public hearing and are also posted below.

Persons who would like to present oral testimony at the hearing are encouraged to register in advance either by e-mail to Andrea Lee at [email protected] or by phone at (202) 478-1355.  Please provide your name, address, telephone number, and organization affiliation, if any.  Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD) relay service is available upon request by calling (800) 201-7165.  A sign language interpreter and language translation services are available upon request by calling Pamela Hillsman at (202) 442-7251.  Persons who require language translation should specify their language preference (i.e. Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese-Mandarin/Cantonese, Amharic, or French).  Language translation services will be provided to pre-registered persons only.  The deadline for requesting interpreter services is 7 days prior to the public hearing.  DHCD bilingual staff (English – Spanish) may be available to assist persons on a walk-in basis without prior registration.
