DHCD Seeks Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Grant Applications

The purpose of this RFA is to solicit applications for legal services from non-profit/tax-exempt corporations and law firms with a history of providing pro bono services.

(Washington, DC) -- The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is soliciting applications under its Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing (HPRP) Grant with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to prevent homelessness in the District.  The HPRP grant is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

The purpose of this Request for Applications (RFA) is to solicit applications for legal services from non-profit/tax-exempt corporations and law firms with a history of providing pro bono services.  The HPRP grant will help support the prevention and elimination of homelessness in the District. Funding under this notice and will be available in FY 2010, beginning on October 1, 2009. 

The RFA will be available for download below. The deadline for submission is Friday, September 18, 2009, at 4 pm.   Applications can be obtained from 1800 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, SE, Washington, DC 20020 – 2nd Floor Reception Desk.  For additional information, please contact the Department of Housing and Community Development, Mr. Guyton Harvey, Grants Manager, Homelessness Prevention Rapid Re-Housing Program at (202) 442-7140.

A pre-application conference will be held at the Department of Housing and Community Development at 10 am on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 1800 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue SE, third floor conference room.  Attendance at the conference is encouraged for all potential applicants. A Certificate of Attendance will be provided to attendees as proof for additional points in the Selection Criteria scoring.
