Learn the ABC's of the District's Single Family Rehab Program and Basic Home Repair How-To's

Topics include who is eligible for the program, how to work with contractors, basic caulking techniques and more!

(Washington, DC) - The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) will host a session under its Education Series entitled "Learn the ABC's of the District's Single Family Rehab Program and Basic Home Repair How-To's."  The session will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2011from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.  It will be held at DHCD's Headquarters, located at 1800 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue SE, Washington, DC 20020, in the First Floor Conference Room.

Attend this FREE education workshop to learn about DHCD's Single Family Residential Rehabilitation Program and to learn valuable basic do-it-yourself home repair tips.  Topic include:

  • who is eligible for the program
  • what repairs are covered
  • how to apply
  • how to work with contractors
  • basic caulking techniques
  • how to properly weatherstrip doors and windows
  • how to make minor drywall repairs
  • how to monitor and change batteries in smoke detectors
