(Washington, DC) - The District of Columbia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) hereby announces grant funding availability for District of Columbia non-profit organizations to provide counseling services and training for homeownership, home preservation, tenants, and tenant groups. These services will support several DHCD housing programs and initiatives.
The purpose of this Request for Applications (RFA) is to solicit applications from non-profit organizations to provide a range of counseling and training services to support DHCD’s housing programs and initiatives, and to promote compliance with District housing regulations. All of the services are intended to empower potential and, actual homeowners, and tenants for the purpose of preserving and promoting affordable housing.
The Request for Applications (RFA) will include detailed descriptions of required organizational qualifications and grant-eligible activities.
The RFA will be available on Friday, July 1, 2011, at DHCD, located at: 1800 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, SE, Washington, DC 20020 – 3rd Floor Reception Desk. The RFA also will be available from the DHCD website on or about July 8, 2011. DHCD will host a pre-application conference for potential RFA respondents on Wednesday July 13, 2011, at 2:00 pm to 4:00pm at DHCD, 1800 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, SE, 1st Floor Housing Services Center. All potential applicants are encouraged to attend the conference.
The deadline for submission of grant applications is Monday, August 1, 2011, at 4:00 p.m.
Funding under this notice is anticipated to begin on or before October 1, 2011.
