DHCD is committed to providing homeownership opportunities for the District’s low-to-moderate income residents. The District also encourages those who work for the District Government to live in the city they serve. DHCD offers the following homebuyer assistance programs through its CBOs.
Home Purchase Assistance Program: Provides an opportunity for low to moderate income District residents to become first-time homebuyers with interest free loans for gap financing and grants towards acquisition and closing costs to purchase a home in DC. Eligible DC government employees may also receive assistance from the Employer-Assisted Housing Program or Negotiated Employee Affordable Home Purchase Program.
