36,000 by 2025 Goals Tracker

The purpose of this site is to track housing production in support of the Mayor’s goal of producing 36,000 new housing units and 12,000 affordable units by 2025.

DHCD Is Moving

On April 1st, DHCD will move to its new location at 1909 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE. The location at 1800 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE will be closed Friday, March 29 to accommodate the move. DHCD will reopen at its new location on Tuesday, April 2.

Home Purchase Assistance Program (HPAP)

The Home Purchase Assistance (HPAP) program provides interest-free loans and closing cost assistance to qualified applicants to purchase single family houses, condominiums, or cooperative units in the District.

Residential Accessory Apartment Program (RAAP)

In her FY 22 and 23 budgets, Mayor Bowser provided over $2 million in funding for the establishment of an affordable dwelling unit pilot program.

DC Homeowner Assistance Fund

The DC Homeowner Assistance Fund Program uses funding from the American Rescue Plan to provide grants to District Homeowners who have been affected by COVID-19 to help keep their home.

2016-2020 Five Year Consolidated Plan for the District of Columbia and the 2016 Proposed Citizen Participation Plan

The DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) will hold two public hearings. The first hearing will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at our headquarters located at 1800 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE in the Housing Resource Center at 6 pm. The second hearing will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Martin Luther King Jr. Library located at 901 G Street, NW in Room A-5 at 6 pm. At the hearings, DHCD will receive public comments on the Plan and budgets to be submitted to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
