The Housing Resource Center (HRC) is the District's central hub for housing, connecting residents and other customers with essential programs and services. We offer guidance on rental assistance, homebuyer support, foreclosure prevention, housing counseling, and emergency and transitional housing.
RentRegistry is open! Beginning June 2, 2025, DHCD will not accept paper filings except for eviction notices and housing provider petitions.

The DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), as well as its public- and private sector partners, hosts and supports a variety of activities to provide affordable housing and community development resources to District residents.
On April 1st, DHCD moved to its new location at 1909 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE, and the location at 1800 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE closed on Friday, March 29th. DHCD opened at its new location on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
